Every night, once the stars are at their brightest and the wild animals are grazing peacefully nearby we step up onto the barbeque stage right next to the firedeck and soon the aromas of superb quality food cooking on the open fire fills the air.

No cheating here!!

No lasagne, no stews, no pots of mixed things!!

Every night a different grill, straight off the fire onto your plate!

The finest steaks, cut specially for us by the town's best butcher, elegantly prepared lamb chops, properly seared as you would expect, grilled chicken, fine ostrich, huge racks of ribs, freshly made salads, wonderfully fragrant local vegetables followed by some of the desserts that have made us famous on tripadvisor – banana pancakes, fire roasted pineapple, apples slow cooked in sherry!

Every plate properly garnished as you would expect from a five star restaurant and according to the reviewers on tripadvisor – the best food anywhere in South Africa!!

Every meal three courses, fresh hot bread and of course the perfect setting !

Breakfast is also 3 courses, always starting with fresh fruit and followed by a plate piled high with traditional English breakfast goodies – every morning something different, South African boerewors, perfectly made deli sausages, bacon, fried tomato, french fries, baked beans, mushrooms, onions – the works ! accompanied by as much toast and preserves as you desire!

And every time you sit down at our table, the setting has changed completely, a different theme on every single occasion – even if you stay a week, you won't see the same setting twice!

Remember we cater for vegetarians, halaal, kosher and special dietary needs – just ask!!

NB: As an authentic retreat our rate is ALWAYS inclusive of dinner and breakfast. Some of our competitors quote a bed and breakfast rate but forget to mention there is nowhere to eat nearby....their dinner pushes their rate way above ours!!
